The Ottawa Police Gala: "Step Up for Youth" - in support of project s.t.e.p
Support. Treatment. Education. Prevention. These key elements lead a campaign to help Ottawa’s four school boards to enhance their substance abuse education and prevention programs. project s.t.e.p takes place in all 55 high schools, including non-traditional academic settings, in the Ottawa area.
As a member of the Campaign Cabinet, Chief of Police, Vern White, continues to support and partner with project s.t.e.p to encourage education and prevention programs for substance abuse: “These are our children who are using out there — it’s a health issue; it’s a family issue; it’s a crime issue. It is crosscutting everything that we do and it’s affecting the future of our community.”
