Has your email or website account been hijacked or "hacked"?

What To Do:

It it's email, social networking profile or instant messenger account:

• This is a common complaint and it is more likely that someone has obtained your password. Report it to the email or instant messenger company involved so they can change the password and return control of your account to you.

If it's a Website:       

• If your computer or Web site has been broken into, and you can prove who is responsible by providing an I.P. address of the suspect, report it to your local police.

Wireless networks

Prevention Tips:

• Prevent unauthorized access to your wireless computer network by enabling encryption. Check the manual that came with your router to learn how to do this.  Unprotected wireless networks allow unauthorized users easy   access to your personal data and unlimited use of your Internet access.
