Ottawa Police lay charges in relation to a rash of break & enters in the city’s South end

(Ottawa)—The Ottawa Police Service’s Break and Enter Team has charged a 25-year-old male in relation to at least 17 break and enters in the city’s South end.

 

On July 23, 2010, members of the Ottawa Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit executed a search warrant in the 900 block of Wellington Street for an unrelated matter. Evidence was gathered during the execution of this warrant which led to the discovery of numerous items related to ongoing break and enter investigations.

 

As a result of the subsequent investigation, Paul HANSEN, 25-years-old of Ottawa, is charged with:

Break & enter and theft x 17

Possession of stolen property x 5

Fail to comply with a recognizance x 17

 

Mr. HANSEN is currently in custody and will be appearing in court today via video remand.

 

The investigation is continuing and more charges are expected.
