Ottawa Police investigate an attempted robbery on Rideau Street

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tuesday September 7, 2010 – 10:40 pm

(Ottawa) – Ottawa Police are currently investigating an attempted robbery at the Cash Money Store at 113 Rideau Street.

At approximately 9:15 pm a lone male entered the store and produced a note to the clerk demanding a sum of money. Police were called and the suspect fled on foot toward the Rideau Centre. No weapon was seen, no cash was obtained and there were no injuries as a result of the incident.

The suspect is described as a black male, possibly in his late teens, wearing a white sweater, red shirt and blue jeans.
